Washington District Ride-In

Grand Coulee Ride-In

Washington Disctrict Ride-In to Grand Coulee

Well, it's over. Washington District's first ride-in is in the books. Besides myself, we had 6 other members come and join us. Chuck and Betty Bonnett, Gary and Kim Schmidt, Steve Johnson, and Vic Parr were those in attendance.

Upon arrival in Grand Coulee, we checked in at the Eagles Lodge for lunch. They were gracious to supply hot dogs, chili, onions, and a couple of salads. There were also Ice Cream cups available. They did a great job, but they canceled out on providing breakfast for us since there were only seven of us. I can certainly understand the reasoning behind this choice. We didn't have enough people show up to cover the cost.

After lunch, we all checked into the Columbia River Inn and got settled into our rooms. Not sure about the others, but my room was clean and mostly comfortable. I would recommend this Motel again.

Later Friday evening, we chose to visit the TeePee Drive-In there in Grand Coulee. Wow, what a burger. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger and found out that my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The food is fantastic, but the only real issue is that there is no indoor seating. When it's stormy and all you have is outdoor seating, it gets quite chilly. But yet, the food was great and the company was even better.

"One River, Many Voices"

Friday night, we all went to the Laser Light Show - "One River, Many Voices" at the dam. This show is amazing. The show starts at 10 PM. There are concrete bleachers to sit on, and the parking and the show are free. This night, the wind was blowing, and it was a little chilly, but it was worth it to watch just some of the history that makes up Grand Coulee Dam.

Saturday morning, we all met at "Auntie Dannee's" in Electric City. They were very accommodating to us. The food was spectacular.
